Fantastic place, so beautiful and lovingly built by Margo and her team. One big warm bath that I immersed myself in for a week. A paradise to completely relax and enjoy the benefits of nature and the good vibe of Karimunjawa. Daily nice yoga was also possible in a beautiful space on the grounds, outside the retreats. Alam Kita: truly a discovery and hidden gem in Java. Thanks for all the good care!

We stayed at Alam Kita on Karimunjawa for 6 nights and had a wonderful time there. The complex is very quiet by the sea, is beautifully green, designed with great attention to detail and is carefully maintained. A long jetty leads to a platform on the sea, where you can jump straight into the deep water and relax in the sun. There are also many places to retreat in the shade on the complex. Our bungalow was very spacious and cozy, with an outdoor shower (including warm water), bed with mosquito net and a beautiful covered terrace with a wonderful view of the countryside.Breakfast was included and very tasty (selection of about 5-6 dishes), and you could register for the lunch/dinner buffet (also very tasty) if necessary. There are also small snacks and a good selection of drinks, water is free.Everything we needed was easily organized by Margo (taxis, ferry tickets, scooters, massage, hike, takeaway breakfast on the morning of departure and so on).Margo and her team are very kind and personable people who you simply have to like. It was made very easy for us to feel comfortable!

A beautiful place. At the beginning of November 2023, I attended a seven-day retreat, after which I extended my stay by a few days because I had such a great time at Alam Kita. Margo and the people around her are very sweet, special people who really made me feel at ease. The experiences during the retreat were also extremely valuable and I will keep them with me forever. The activities I did were very different from trekking through the jungle, snorkeling in magical blue water, to various meditations and yoga... plus many more surprises.I certainly hope to return here in the future.

The individual retreat I experienced at Alam Kita is one I will never forget. So special and special!! I have experienced quite a few previous retreats, but I could not think of this in advance. And it turned out super fitting.First of all, Alam Kita is a beautiful place; you have your own nice wooden house (with outdoor shower👌), surrounded by non-stop jungle sounds and a view of the blue sea at the front. The mega jetty that reaches far into the sea is beautiful. You are so strongly connected to it nature.I was immediately captivated by the place. But during my stay, I was more and more captivated by the people who run Alam Kita and who also live/stay there themselves. Everyone so pure and authentic. Never before have I been so welcomed in a place with everything that presented itself. Without judgement.Just 'go with the flow', with your own, or using input/activity from there. Everything can be discussed, everything is ok and improvisation 'all over the place'. That is precisely what made the retreat so special for me and touched and moved me to the core. Very grateful for that!!I eventually extended the retreat to be able to stay in this wonderful place a little longer. A top place to visit for a few days, but especially for a retreat or to really experience the beauty of Karimunjawa or yourself for a longer period of time:-)Margot guides you through the retreat in her own clear way with both feet on the ground and humor! 💜💜💜

We've been home for 6 weeks now and are letting the experiences of our trip to Indonesia sink in. I often looked at the photos and came to the conclusion that our 10-day stay at Alam Kita was one of the highlights. Friendly welcome, lovely hostess and nice and enthusiastic employees. We alternated between lazing around and being active. The day usually started with a dip in the sea, then made 2 tours of the island, snorkeled (saw beautiful coral and fish), looked at planets and stars, went to the village on the back of the motorbike to eat freshly barbecued fish. All activities were arranged by the staff if you wanted them. Also saw how 2 men climbed the palm trees with their bare hands and feet to harvest coconuts, but that was a coincidence, it doesn't happen every week. Delicious food and drinks. nice rooms with good beds and an open-air bathroom. All in all a great time and it wouldn't be a shame if we could go back there again. Thank you very much to Margo and staff.

Margo has created a wonderful place here where you can really relax. The bungalows are very well maintained and have a great view. The food is very varied and delicious!! The employees are all very courteous and friendly. In addition to professional yoga lessons and snorkeling trips, SUPs can also be rented and you can swim and snorkel at the in-house jetty.

An absolutely magical place. I only visited for a glass of wine in the evening but the whole surrounding just feels like magic. Margo and her team have made Alam Kita into a home for anyone who comes to stay or even just to visit. Drinking wine on the pier watching the sun set was one of my best moments in Karimunjawa and I cannot wait to return ❤️

Wow, what a beautiful stay. We stayed at this beautiful place for three nights, but I can recommend everyone to really get some peace and quiet here and stay longer! Beautiful surroundings and lovely people. They can easily arrange a tour for you, rent you a scooter to explore the island and serve you delicious food/breakfast. Relax in the surroundings or take advantage of yoga classes, massages or simply jump into the water.

For several months now, the daily grind has returned to us. How often do we long, in those fleeting moments, to return to the island, to that little gem? The memories of our stay at "Alam Kita" remain fresh and delightful even weeks later. We don't want to miss the chance to sing its praises publicly.Thank you to the warm-hearted team for the amazing days. You weren't just a team; you became family for a while. Thanks to Irvan and Evi for the delicious meals at breakfast and in between. Thanks to Evi for your warm nature and the safe moped rides around the island. Thanks to Wawan for the chats about gardening, woodworking, life, and all the pleasant bla, bla, bla. A deep thank you to Meis for caring so sweetly for all of us, for spending time with our son Carl and showing him so much interest. Thanks to Margo for creating this little paradise and for surrounding yourself with such incredible people – even if we couldn't meet in person this time."Alam Kita" was the perfect place for us to slow down during our journey. Here, one has everything they need: Stylish wooden lodges, an open-air bathroom, tranquility, an impressive wooden pier stretching into the sea, unforgettable excursion opportunities, and the best temporary family one could imagine. We wish you all the best for the future and hope for a reunion someday.

What a beautiful place to relax. We felt very comfortable and cared for in Alam Kita, because Margo and her team are always available for questions and requests. The direct access to the sea via the 111m long jetty is a dream every day. Dog, cat and goat complete the team. Your physical well-being is also well taken care of.

I can say with full conviction that this week has been one of the most special and educational experiences of my life. Alam Kita is not just a place to see; it is a place that you can also feel deep inside. Margo has built this enchanting venue with so much love and care, and the result is simply perfect. The bungalows are beautiful and the jetty offers breathtaking views of both the sunrise and sunset. The presence of the pets - the dog, cat and goat - adds an extra touch of charm to this magical place. Astrid's yoga classes are incredibly educational and inspiring. Her guidance really helped me to deepen my yoga experience. And then we haven't even mentioned the food from Evy, the talented cook. Her Indonesian food is simply the best I've ever tasted, and I can proudly say that I've enjoyed quite a bit of Indonesian food in my life. The flavours, the smells, everything was simply amazing.During my stay here I also had the privilege of participating in a retreat led by Margo. Her wisdom and guidance have given me valuable insights that I will carry with me forever. Margo, Evy, Meis and the whole team, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this unforgettable experience.I wish you all the very best and hope that Alam Kita can inspire and enrich many others, just as it has done for me.

Staying in Alam Kita means being immersed in nature. The location is very beautiful. Margo manages the structure with love and you can feel it in every detail. Reception and availability from all the staff. Excellent organized activities including stargazing. A special note of merit goes to the extraordinary Evi, a concentrate of positive energy as well as an excellent cook who was a pleasure to meet.

I love the hotel with its beautiful traditional bungalows. The staff and owner are lovely, very helpful and kind. The food is really nice and the surroundings are gorgeous. I love the nature on and around Alam Kita. A beautiful jetty protrudes 111 meters into the sea allowing for swimming and snorkeling or for boats to moor if you go on a private snorkeling tour.

Had an amazing time at Alam Kita. This place has exceeded my expectations. The retreat turned out to be one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Besides the activities we did, I loved to spend time on the pier, to go for a swim during the day and watch the sunset and stars at night (extraordinary view). The people from Alam Kita were all very kind. The retreat was healing. It was a fresh start for me.

Alam Kita is a beautiful place with a very nice beach. Its a must visit when you go to Karimunjawa. Margo and her team are very friendly, they do everything to make your stay memorable. It is a great place to relax. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable, with outdoor bathrooms which is nice. It’s like like you sleep in the jungle. I loved the meditation and healing rooms and also the hammocks that you can use whenever you want. Overall a great stay and I will certainly go back sometime

Alam Kita is an amazing "eco" style resort. Margo welcomed us in and her whole team is like a family. The place has cabins that are rustic in feel, but very clean and comfortable, with outdoor covered bathrooms + shower, and a long jetty where you can watch the stars or go swimming. The island itself isn't too big so I would recommend renting scooters (they can organize it or you can get from town). Highly recommend a stay in Alam Kita! 🙂
